KZ's oldest and cheapest of the AZ adaptor line. A must-have?!
So I found out the hard way that the new KZ earbuds have a type of 2-pin connection that is INCOMPATIBLE with older KZ models, and many, many other IEMs. I got the AZ20 and was blown away by the clarity and usability, but of course, it has the protected 2-pin jack so I couldn't attach it to my old KZ earbuds with the flush-mounted pin ports. Like an idiot, I bought like 3 older Bluetooth adaptors, all GARBAGE, and finally I saw that this AZ09 has a B-PIN OPTION! Insta-buy. It's the oldest and cheapest of the AZ lineup, but is it worth it, especially for the wider compatibility? I will be comparing it to the AZ20 which is like at LEAST 58$ more expensive.Build quality / aesthetics: Great. It's not as nice-looking as the 20, but still is a sleek rounded case. The clear cable is not as good as the silicone cover on the 20, but it works fine. The buttons aren't as nice, and surprisingly, it's harder to get the earbuds out of the 09 than it is on the 20: there's less places to get a hold on the buds in the 09 case. But overall, for under 30$, those are honestly minor complaints.Bluetooth quality. Very good. I'm not someone who tests range so there's that, but as far as any static, there's some very minor static that you can hear in almost-silent parts of music... the 20 has no static at all, but the 09 still has MUCH less than the older adaptors still for sale on Amazon that have neck cables. Those have a LOT of static buzz. The sound quality of the Bluetooth is nearly identical to the 20, and both these adaptors are to my untrained ear, virtually equal with a cabled connection for sound quality.Features: Neither of these adaptors are feature-rich, and the 09 has nearly identical to the 20 in this respect. Neither have volume control which is annoying. The biggest drawback to the 09 is there's no multi-point connection ability. It can connect to only one device at a time.~Surprisingly, the 09 has a feature that the more expensive 20 does not: Spatial audio mode. I don't claim to know exactly how this works... but for multi-driver IEMs [ZS6 was used] this makes the music sometimes sound congested. For single Dynamic Driver buds [EDX was used] the spatial audio sounds much better. I tried some Celine Dion in 360 Reality Audio on Amazon Music, in Spatial mode, and boy, wow... it sounds SO much better than playing it standard mode. I do not know why they cut this out of the AZ20, but I can see it confusing people because it doesn't sound good in every situation because it really seems to shine with single-driver buds, in my brief test, and doesn't seem to suit some every music track that I tried. Some sounded amazing, some sounded weird. As far as gaming mode [high performance mode,] both sets have this but I do not use these for gaming or movies really so... I didn't test that. Both also have a "full power mode" that gives any earbud a more full and powerful sound, which is needed for any Planar driver buds [KZ Symphony running on the AZ20.]I will say that switching between these modes requires triple-clicking and if you're not fast enough, it will think it's a double click and skip the track.Battery life: both the 09 and the 20 have 800ma batteries so they both have amazing battery life. no complaints!Summary, With a few minor exceptions, the 09 is just as good as the 20 and is over 50$ cheaper, and it's compatible with many other IEM brands that have not switched to the new "c-pin" KZ connection. This is the best IEM adaptor deal ever! Just remember to buy the B-pin option!

Amazing but with quirks
This is an amazing companion for any compatible IEM. The only issue is not know knowing what performance mode it’s in (normal, spatial, or gaming) all it does it beep.

Sounds great when they work.
From the first time I heard the disembodied “Connected” I knew I had a fine piece of pure chinesium hanging from my ear. Not the first time I’ve used cheap products and I’m sure it won’t be the last time either. Chinese made products typically get the job done well enough for my liking, but not this time. One of the first thoughts I hadd when I first recived these adaptors was how massive the case was. Understandibly it has to fit any variety of IEM, but there’s no way I’m confortably fitting a case the size of an apple (fruit) in my pocket. Within the first few hours of using these I found I would have connection issues. They’d be fully connected, but I’d hear nothing. Putting them back in their case to reset for a few seconds would put them right though. This has gotten much worse over the past couple months. It happens several times a day and a hard reset often won’t do the trick. Only forgetting the device and repairing them will fix it. What a hastle. Most battery operated devices have some sort of internal power management system in place to warn a user when the battery level is low and shut down when there isn’t enough juice to function. These have no such thing. When the battery is low it will just sputter on and off constantly losing connection or audio until the climax of it’s slow drawn out death. Trying the whole time to function like nothing is out of the ordinary.Overall the sound is just fine, but other than that they barely operate as intended. Unless you really enjoy the struggles modern electronic devices at a constant interval best to steer clear of these.

They work great. They sound great but they don't have enough power to drive inefficient iem ! If ever you improve on these please give them MORE power.

Lasted a year. Worked well for the year.
Lasted JUST over a year then just stopped working. When to look at why and the pins separated from the wires.Soemtimes would not charge when put back in case and had to remove and pop them back in.Sometimes would stay connected to phone even when in the case.Bluetooth worked well. Sometimes would not connect but forget on phone and repair then would be fine.

A Christmas gift for a specific set of headphones.
My grand was very pleasantly surprised that Amazon had these as it had the dreaded "out of stock and do not know if it will ever......" I either bought that last or maybe the 1st of a restock. I am thankful. Works very well.

Short-Lived and Overpriced
My most recent purchase of these Bluetooth adapters has left me frustrated and deeply disappointed. They only lasted around 2 months before they stopped charging and pairing properly. Will not buy these again. I'd recommend you just buy the cheaper version and save your money instead of overspending on this.
