These lights were perfect for lighting a model RC car in a cabinet, the only criticism I would make is that you have to trap the cable under the base when screwing down. All it needs is a slightly thicker base with a feed whole to the side so that you would not have to trap the cable.Otherwise these lights are very good and good value for your money.

Overall these are excellent value for money - assuming of course that they arrive with LED ‘drivers’ which reading through some of the negative reviews does not always seem to be the case. They have their drawbacks though: in my particular case there were no instructions; nor was a standard plug enclosed - something I thought was illegal pre-Brexit if you consider these as a type of domestic item. The plug is potentially a serious issue in that according to one of the Amazon question&answer contributors one should be using a 2A or 3A fuse only. Fortunately I had read this but I suspect many others won’t. As an amateur DIYer this seems rather hazardous.Installation: well, as another reviewer commented, the absence of a groove in the base means that if you want to lead the cable anywhere other than straight downwards you are obliged to cut out an inch long groove in the shelf or surface you’re installing it on to allow the cable to feed out. Otherwise the base cannot sit flush with the surface and your light is going to have a significant tilt.Secondly: the wires are relatively short; particularly onwards from the LED driver box (8cms or so) to the plug. Of course it’s easy enough to add an extension - but it’s another bother, another connector to fiddle about with. These lights really are made for the kind of display units shown in the listing pics - where all the connectors and plugs are underneath in a cabinet area.But as I said: for the money these really are excellent value.
