Great value!
Well built, works just as good as the one that I used to have for a quarter of the cost

The Item arrived in good condition, and was calibrated at the water level.
The Item arrived in good condition, and was calibrated at the water level. The temperature display is in Celsius Degree, and for me born and raised in Europe it is O.K. At the range 30 C To 35 C the reading are very close to 30F to 35F.If you need a display in F then by a refractometer with display in F.Please do not give a bad feedback because you made a wrong decision.I decided to flush fluids of my 2014 Audi A4 Quattro with 70000 miles. To flush the coolant it cost around $150 labor only. I need the refractor to make sure about the density of the coolant.Depending the weather where we are, the strength of coolant differs.Higher the contain of the water in coolant, means higher the thermal capacity, and to transfer the heat from engine block to the radiator, less amount of antifreeze needs to be circulated. On the other hand, the higher the amount of the water, result to the higher freezing point of the fluid. In Wisconsin we set the strength around –30 F. If the temperature is predicted to go below –30F, then we extract some coolant and add concentrated antifreeze, to reach at –35 to –40. You need a refractometer to Test it.Keep in mind that the shelf life of unopened Bottle of Audi Antifreeze G12 or G13 is 3 years only.It is a good idea to flush radiator every 3 years. If you do not want to go through this mess, every year empty the radiator, and refill. Keep in mind that half of the coolant is trapped inside the engine block, but it circulates during driving. It was my fault ordering this Item with display for coolant, and battery fluid density. Most of the batteries are maintenance free, so you cannot ad electrolyte inside.Even if there are battery plugs just add distilled water to the level. If you decide to flush the battery and refill with new electrolyte, you have to do it in a glass container adding acid over the distilled water, cooling down the mixture and testing the density with a Floating Glass Hydrometer with Thermometer.I was doing this long time ago while buying dry led Acid batteries, filling with new electrolyte, waiting until it build up the voltage, and after charging and finally going through Battery Equalization process. This isn’t worth for a car battery. Just keep the voltage above 12.6V and replace when it dies.So I’m going to buy another refractometer for my son but only with reading for the Antifreeze, if I could find it. Just for Ethylene Glycol and Propylene Glycol.

Works great, good quality, we purchased several of these

A Fahrenheit scale would have been convenient.
No instructions. But easy enough to use if you are even slightly familiar with this type. I bought it to be sure of my PG mix in my outdoor wood boiler and glad I did instead of just trusting the mix ratio. I had to add more PG to get to my desired freeze point. The scale is only in centigrade, but the conversion is simple, or you can search for a conversion calculator online and just plug in the numbers. It would have been nice to have the Fahrenheit scale right in the sight glass though.

Celsius readings only. Do not buy if you live in the US
This only has readings in Celsius. And sold in the United States where we use fahrenheit, what good is it ? I will have to return it.

Worked great, with nice case.

Great addition to the shop for testing fluids.
I purchased this to double check test strips for DEF and glycol antifreeze. I went around the shop and compared new DEF, antifreeze, and washer fluid. All were within the advertised specs. It's a great little tool to have around. The calibration was off just a hair, but I just zero'd it with some RO/DI water and was perfect.
