Yes! It has a very flavorful smokey taste:)

Q: Will the brown color dissolve leaving say a steak not looking like dirt is on it?

The smoked salt does not leave color on meats. Actually, the salt tastes smoked but it doesn't make meat taste smoked. I won't be purchasing it again. It is not worth the amount of money it costs.
