The packaging lists serving sizes for the approximate weight of your cat. My cat is 11 lbs, so I give 1 teaspoon (6 grams) and the tube I purchased is 3 oz. (85 grams). I would get approximately 14 servings out of 1 tube. It really works well. My cat has a severe case of FHV. Clear eyes and nose, with just a quiet lingering wheeze, when she over exerts herself.

That's a good question. It's a thickening agent. If you're concerned about it being dangerous, I couldn't find a ton of info but I did find this "Acute oral LD50 in mouse is 3200 mg/kg" It is considered "practically nontoxic" with the potential lethal dose being an enormous amount with respect to bodyweight. A cat would likely have to eat several bottles of this medicine in a day to show any real effects. I wouldn't worry about it and plan on continuing to use it for my kitty.

Q: I’ve been buying this from you monthly for over a year and this last bottle has small grey spots in the formula. Is this mold?

I contacted the company and they have assured me that they did not change the formula, but had to made a temporary supplier change due to a shortage with their normal supplier. I *just* received new tubes with an exp date of 12/22 and the formula is back to the creamy one and my cats are back to eating it right up. Neither of my two who get it would touch the chunky stuff dated 11/22.

I would think as long as the lysine gel didn’t melt inside of the box it should be fine. I would try to squeeze some gel on your finger and see if the gel is still in solid form and not liquid. Then it should be fine. 😀
