CarharttMen's Storm Defender Relaxed Fit Lightweight Packable Jacket

Large purchased. 5'8"/ 170 pound male; 16/ 33 shirt; 40" chest; 33" waist. I bought a large to allow additional winter garments underneath. Perfect fit. This is a very well-made, nice looking product. I'm hopeful I will get 3-5 years out of the water-proof coating (very nice looking from the inside). It provides excellent, heavy rain protection, and completely blocks the wind. It extends down to the bottom of my pants pockets. Does not print if you CCWIWB. Left breast pocket (zippered/ water proofed nicely). Two side/ zippered pockets; one interior pocket. Zippers have corded fobs- all of very nice quality. Interior hanging loop near label. Attached hood with very-nice draw cord and stops. Adjustable cuffs; waist draw cord and stops. Made in Vietnam. Carhardtt makes nice products and I hope they can keep their prices down. Not a vendor or employee... just providing a fair review of a nice product.

Great looking jacket. Rain proof.

This is a good quality jacket. I am very pleased with it. The hood is very large and may come down over your eyes. But if you wear a baseball cap under it, it is perfect and does a great job keeping rain out of your face.

This is a Beautiful jacket! Lightweight yet warm, great fit

The most important things to know here are that this is a thicker, sturdier, and more waterproof jacket than the others that carry the Carhartt brand. It isn't cheap, but its also not super expensive. Its a good value if you consider how many colors and sizes you can choose from.You may be disappointed that there is no actual lining. I find it's super comfy only if I'm wearing long sleeves, but its also cut to be comfortable under long sleeves. There is no storm flap over the main zipper, but there seems to be enough structure behind it that this isn't a problem. Breathability isn't bad and the wind and water repellency of the shell is excellent. The hood is a bit oversized and droops over my eyes unless I wear a hat under it. Then it's perfect.I guess that's the bottom line. It is a stylish but functional piece of kit provided you don't have to wear it against your skin on a hot day. The best use is probably if you are already wearing several layers of clothing and you need a waterproof shell over that that is still breathable enough you don't have to take it off every time you go into a heated room or car. We'll see if its as durable and waterproof after a couple of years, but the sturdiness of the shell and especially of the waterproof laminate layer bodes very well. It's not going to develop holes or stretches seems unless you really work at it.

Works great, good quality, used it all winter and it still looks new.

Comfortable rain jacket, doesn’t feel bulky. Wear at work and does not interfere or restrict movement. Hold up to rain better than my Columbia jacket
