The Army Painter Warpaints Fanatic: Mega Set

Is this set expensive? Yes. However, these bottles run 5$ a piece regularly. The Army Painter is the best hobby paint you will ever buy. Not much more to say.

I've got literally hundreds of paints so I've got a lot to compare this against. I love Pro Acryl and use it a lot, but I'm also not a huge fan of mixing colors (just a personal "problem"). I love the flexibility of Army Painter's new "flexible triad" system. My only complaint with this assortment of 50 colors is that it only has very colors from the same "triad" so while I'm incredibly impressed with the quality of the paints themselves, I wish the set showed off a bit more of the power of having various paints from a single triad available.I used ~20 different paints on this zombie hulk figure. Most of them were from this line of paint. I absolutely loved the base green that came with the set. I went to my local game store bought another green and a couple more purples to do the pants as well. The grays on the base and the oil spills were all Pro Acryl paints. And the rust in back was Dirty Down with some light rust painted over the top (light rust is from this line but not in this box). And I also bought a "Disgusting Slime" effect paint from this line that also wasn't in the box.

As a hobbyist painter this set is a must get for any fan of the hobby. From sci-fi mechs to scheming fantasy rodents this set includes everything I need to paint my armies above and beyond table top standard. The paint quality is high and each bottle came with a mixer bottle to prevent clumping and variation in paint color. Overall an amazing purchase and I would definitely recommend considering the value for the money.

Amazing quality paints you can never go wrong with this company. Smooth and seamless spray while providing a nice coat that doesn't take many layers for coverage. Yes these are expensive but your also getting quality.

Great paint worth the money

I love these paints. My only complaint is the price but, today that is everyone's complaint. The paints are great and cover well. I use mine on a Red Grass wet pallette. They are easy to control and can cover your ... "mistakes" easily. Thanks Army Painter.

Amazing color selection, I really like the stand that came with it

I had heard and read a lot of good things about these. And honestly, at this price point, I expected a lot from them.I'm afraid to say I was very disappointed. I've only used maybe 5 shades, and they all are very watery and do not give good coverage. In some cases, I've applied 5 coats and still have blotchy primer bleed thru. These have only slightly better coverage than $.99 craft paint from the local big store. I would swear someone drained half the paint from the bottles and replaced it with water.I've been using Citadel paints from $6 a pot from the local game store, and they have phenomenal coverage. Most often with only one coat. These Fanatic paints seem more like washes as the pigment settles at the low points and barely shades the high spots. I use a magnetic rotating/vibrating mixer (like doctors offices have) and it's just not getting any better.I'm really disappointed-I expected so much.
