AMES COMPANIES Aluminum Asphalt Lute Rake, 36" (63133)

First order 02/19/25; The handle is very nice and longer than I expected. I would love to rate the rake, however they only shipped me the handle, no rake, no hardware, just the red handle with foam grip. RETURNED!!!!!!Second order 03/06/25; The blade is quite sturdy, nice thick aluminum and undamaged even though the box was destroyed and taped back together. Problem is this time I only got THE BLADE! No handle, no hardware, just the 36" blade. RETURNED!!!!!! I will not try to order again from Amazon, will have now wasted 2 trips to town to return partial deliveries when I could have made 1 trip to a store to buy a complete one, not just random components.

This tool is no run-of-the-mill cheap copy of the real thing. IT IS the REAL THING!! Ames Asphalt rakes are on major paving jobs in every area of the USA. I know, I have been in the field for almost 30 yrs. I see these rakes often. They work for asphalt they are used by the largest to smallest paving companies because they are tough and built to last. BTW... they work for Landscaping rock too.P.S. ~ I feel a "Hell Yeah" comin on!

Took a bit of time to find this product, since I didn't know what it's called, haha, but I appreciate the feedback from other customer's on the Ames name, because this is a winner.We have been slowly recovering our business parking lot with gravel crush, a section at a time, and not having the proper tool made it a lot more time consuming and frustrating, to get a nice even spread.With the wide, two-sided tool head on this product, the spreading of the crush is much easier and looks far better when you're done and the best part about this product is that it is STURDY. Reminds me of an automotive part, the thick, hefty aluminum and they also provide excellent hardware for a strong connection to the very long handle.Doesn't bend or warp at all and you can comb out the gravel with the teeth, and then flip it over for smoothing with the flat side of the tool head.And speaking of the long handle, this also makes the job easier, with the very long reach.I'd never heard of a lute rake, but won't forget the name now. Not sure of all of its other uses, but, for spreading gravel or crushed gravel, this is a perfect tool for the job.Highly recommend!
