Fantastic upgrade for Korean Squier
I'm really happy. Fit well, had to shave near bridge, no biggee. Sounds good, nice and quiet. Bridge humbucker blends well with single coils. Raise the pickups closer to the strings. I'm really satisfied, even like the in-between switch positions. Money well spent.

Bad wire, otherwise great
It has a bad solder connection on one wire. Once I fixed that, it worked great. Nice tone, good quality, easy to install. Great value when compared to Fender.

Quality components and clean assembly
Quality assembly and components are readily evident with the obvious extra care. First off, the switches and wiring is laid out precisely, dropping in perfectly to a standard Fender-route body. Little things make a big difference - like ground shielding under the pickguard, laying out the wiring to fit the standard cavity, old-style 5-way switch with larger contact points, correct 250 K pots, Orange drop capacitors and upgrade treble bleed mod. When the Humbucker is selected, it's a straight signal without any tone control. The 3-ply pick guard is clean and precise and gorgeous. I chose the tortoise shell and love it. I like the ivory knobs but the white and black knobs are also included. The sound and balance between pickups is sweet. I am sold on this upgrade and do not hesitate recommending it to my friends.

Really well made prewired pickguard
You only have to take apart a couple budget import guitars to know how much better the craftsmanship of these Musiclily kits is. Really beautiful wiring with push-back cloth wrapped wire, with spare pickup covers and knobs to suit your desired color scheme. All generic parts, of course (or Musiclily parts), but better looking stuff than I've ever pulled out of any cheap Strat knock off. Good as is, or a great base for upgrades if you've got some fancy pickups you want to use. For a $100 price tag, these kits are really hard to argue with. Unless you do this stuff every day, wiring a Strat from scratch is kind of tedious and confusing and can get messy pretty quickly if you have little/no experience. Then when you have it all done, you have to cram all your wiring into the body cavity, and if things aren't routed like they need to be, you will have problems. My last Strat wiring job is still hanging on the wall, waiting on me to fix whatever I did wrong. Not so with these kits. Even if you want to swap out some parts, as long as you keep the wiring where it is, it should be an easy drop-in. This would be money well spent to beef up a <$200 kit guitar - and some of those these days are really nice aside from the electronics! With one of these kits, you could have that thing sounding way better in just an hour or two. Then you'll probably want to do a proper action setup - That's the other place cheap guitars really cut corners!Fyi, if you've never swapped a Strat pickguard, plan on at least some of the screw holes not lining up, especially if it's an off brand. You might get lucky, but be prepared to drill at least a couple new holes and you won't be disappointed if they don't line up!

White, black, and yellowish off-white....
This pre-wired beauty showed up the other day. I have not had a chance to build a guitar to put it in yet, but I hooked the meter up to it and things tested well. The wiring is done well, nice soldering, clean and well organized wires, and seems to be put together well. The pots turn smoothly and the switch operates smoothly. -nice detents to hold it in place, but easy to move when it's time to select a different pickup...Finish on the tortoise shell guard looks good. Protective plastic covers the face. The thing I didn't realize...It comes with the "antique white"(?) pickup covers, knobs, and switch cover. In the box you will also find a set of black pickup covers, knobs, and switch cover, as well as a white set.Mix-n-match, tortoise with black, tortoise with white, or leave it as it is pictured, tortoise and a yellowish color. It will be a few months before I get the guitar built for this (I have about 4 customs in front of this...). I will update if there is anything wonky, screwy, or strange after it is installed. No update = works great!

A good set but the humbucker is not the best
This is a pretty good set of drop-in pick ups. However, for the price, I’m very disappointed by the humbucker. I was hoping for a good sounding humbucker with cutting high end and full upper mids. However, the humbucker just sounds a bit woofy with not much clarity and too much low-mids. When pairing it with the middle single coil pickup, it still sounds muddy. I’m tempted to replace the pots with 1M to see if that would help add some high-end to the humbucker but that would probably make the single coil pickups sound too bright. I will need to experiment with the tone circuit and see what combination of pot value and capacitor would work well. I’ll update this review with my findings. While I’m disappointed by how the humbucker sounds, this is not a bad set to have if you need a drop-in set for you guitar build or for repair. Though I would not consider this set as an “upgrade” from anything you would find in import guitars these days. If this is a right price for you and you just need something to complete your guitar build, this is not a bad set to get.
