Barlean's Omega 3 Fish Oil Supplement, Liquid EPA and DHA Fatty Acid Supplements Support, High Potency Orange Flavored, 8 oz

Honestly, I was afraid to try cod liver oil. But I kept hearing how good it is for you.I finally got brave enough to try it, and was pleasantly surprised. There was no fishy taste, and no fishy after burp. To the tongue and pallet it just tastes like your eating a healthy oil. Don’t be afraid to try it.

I like this product would have concerns about the safety of artificial sweeteners. Is it helping raise my HDLs hopefully.... But are the artificial sweeteners increasing my chance of clotting? Possibly looking for a artificial sweetener free version.

You can still taste and smell the cod liver oil even with the lemon flavoring. But because i feel better taking it, I'm willing to continue to do so. I just have it with a powdered fizzy orange vitamin c drink after i put a teaspoon of the oil under my tongue. I wash it down with the drink, minimizing the taste of the oil. I try to take it before bed and for me, it doesn't disturb my sleep. I firmly believe it's a good, recommendable and all natural product.

This product is very clearly advertised as organic, and that is the reason I chose this one out of the many similar products available. However, the bottle I received is not labeled organic in any way. I compared the label on the bottle I received and the one in the photo being advertised. The difference is in the name of the company. The one on the Amazon website says "Barlean's Organic Oils." The one on the bottle I received just says Barlean's. No mention of organic anywhere on the bottle. Upon this closer examination I realized that the even the bottle in the photo on Amazon does not have the USDA organic label, so if you looked very carefully before ordering, maybe you wouldn't have the expectation that the product is organic, even though the title of the product as advertised is "Barlean's Organic Oils."In any event, I needed the oil right away so I did not return it and have been using the product. It seems pretty good and has worked well in the fruit and vegetable smoothies I make for my family. But if organic is important to you, do NOT buy this one.

As I got older, my swallowing abilities have taken a little bit of a hit, and I found myself choking on the pill version of this product a lot, especially since they are so smooth. I also wasn't keen on swallowing that much plastic. Thankfully they make their fish oil as straight liquid that you can take as a teaspoonful. My advice is to ignore anybody who complained about the flavor. Aside from a mild orange essence, there is no flavor. I honestly don't know what they're talking about.

I prefer this fish oil to all others, because it doesn't have any cloying sweeteners, or additives to change the consistency into a more smoothie-like texture like many of the other Barlean's liquid oils, and the orange oil isn't too strong in this one so it doesn't upset my stomach (another similar liquid fish oil, Nature's Answer Omega-3 fish oil, is similar to this product and a better deal, but it upset my stomach after a while and I was burping it up all day).This is just right; it doesn't taste fishy but it isn't sweet, it just tastes like mildly orange flavored oil. And, unlike the other Barlean's smoothie-style sweetened oils that I've tried, I can quickly feel the beneficial effects of this one (really helps with headaches/eye strain/mental clarity). It's also easier on my stomach than any other brand or style of fish oil I've tried. Really it's an all-around winner, I just wish I could get it in larger quantities and/or in a glass container.I would definitely take this over Barlean's other fish oil products. I think it's the best bang for your buck, but if you like pills than those are good too (not as good of a money saver as this though). Barlean's fish oil soft gels taste like they're filled with this oil anyway, I've bitten them open before and the oil inside tastes just like this product.
