Great for irrigation pump shutoff.
This electric shutoff is great for sump pumps or irrigation pumps, except it needs instructions for wiring it in. I had to go to YouTube to figure out how to wire it in and had to order a pressure control switch for it to work.

Goes both ways (fill/empty a tank)
This Cable Float Switch Water Level Controller for Water Tank by NXTOP functions either for filling or emptying a tank. It would need to be placed in a large sump to be used as a Sump Pump controller as the device needs space around it to properly operate and does not reset reliably in a horizontal (flat) position. The instructions provided suffer a bit in translation, but here is all you need to know:Black wire is common to both. Brown is closed when float is up. Blue is closed when float is pointed down.I would check the direction of operation of your unit with a meter before installation. The float needs to be pointed in the opposite direction to reset or set the switch. It WILL NOT reliably reset when in a neutral (horizontal) position. This is why the diagram shows this unit positioned from a conduit on the side of the tank. The neat thing is when properly placed in a tank this is a reliable mechanical switch that will last as long as the float maintains integrity.

A Compact Option for Various Applications
Product: 3M (9.8ft)Cable Float SwitchBrand : NXTOPASIN : B0CZ2ZY9JQ💡Impressions:This switch is lightweight and slightly smaller than expected, although the dimensions are clearly indicated on the product page. NXTOP offers various similar switches, including 2M, 3M, 4M, 6M, and 10M, with most sharing the outer dimensions of 3.9" x 3.1" x 1.8" (L*W*T).Internally, these switches, as well as those from other brands, share a similar construction, featuring a steel ball and a micro switch. The gravity-induced movement of the steel ball activates the switch lever, cycling a pump or other device. While NXTOP manufactures these switches, the internal switch's manufacturer remains unknown.I don't anticipate the same quality as 3M or Zoeller Pump, I remain somewhat skeptical of the build due to its lightweight construction and wiring size. Nevertheless, this switch performs adequately, and if I achieve half the listed endurance cycles, I will be satisfied. I intend to use it in a non-essential role to trigger an alarm on a tank where overflow isn't critical.⭐⭐⭐ Rating: Simple design, easy wiring. Thanks for reading. 👍

Waterproof float swith which can be used as high or low switch
I have mostly used high water float switches before like what comes with a sump pump, but some applications call for a switch to close when water level goes down. Before, I've bent the wire back and taped/ziptied the wire so the float operates opposite its design, but this doesn't work very well and is a kludge and clunky. With this switch on my water storage tank positioned to turn on when the level goes below a level, the output goes to my supply spring where a sump pump will activate so long as the spring level is sufficient. It's working good so far and prevents overflowing and wasting power with an overflow system. The cord is pretty thick, but the copper conductors are not very heavy gauge. Since I'm not running more than a couple amps at 120VAC, it should be sufficient without a relay controller. The included weight can be used to set the float level in a tank, and everything is sealed in plastic to eliminate corrosion. This versatile float has helped improve my water transfer system and I'm glad to have found it. I would recommend it, especially if you're looking for a way to activate a pump to keep a tank full.

Once you get it wired in, works well
I recommend buying a new male outlet plug and cutting your sump pump plug end off. Then you can wire this into the sump pump directly and install the new plug end to hold all the wires. Then when the float triggers, it will directly control the flow of power to the pump. That is my one complaint about this float, it doesn't have a through plug like most others do that controls the sump. It's all up to you to wire it into your configuration. What I may do is wire this up to a microcontroller so I can program some more intelligent water management into my system. Otherwise it works well as a float switch.

Best cost effective solution!
I really wanted to update my septic alarm as the old float for it didn’t do anything but submerge in the tank. The alarm box is fairly old and makes an annoying buzz sound when triggered. I had seen an option for an alarm that would alert you via your phone when it triggers, but I really am not seeing many options with a decent price range. This cheap float switch puts old alarm box back in business. Being such an excellent value, I can’t really even complain about the thinner stranded wiring. It worked best for me when I hooked up the black and brown wire. I got my grabbers out and lifted it and the buzzer started buzzing. The blue wire was buzzing before I could even test it. I believe that may have something to do with it being used as a switch to turn on and off a sump pump.Using the included weight saved me a trip down into the septic to tie it off to the pipe. The float switch will need to rise a couple inches above the weight, so all you really have to do is lower the weight pretty close where you would want a high water alarm to sound. This is excellent in my setup because I have a similar float switch already tied to the pipe lower down for activating the sump pump as it is. This gives me a nice clean and easy to understand setup for anyone needing to work on the system down the road! And thanks to the length being near ten feet, I don’t have excessive wiring dangling around for this switch!

Well made
The NXTOP float switch seems very well made. Looks like it will last a good long time in harsh conditions in a dirty sump. It's multipurpose - can turn on with either low or high level - but I use it in the normal "on when up" mode. Can either be installed by clamping the wire to a pipe, or using the weight to set the height. The only drawback is that this comes with bare wire terminations. It doesn't have a piggyback connector to directly plug in a sump pump.Very well made switch. Recommended.
