The Big Book of the Blue: Yuval Zommer (The Big Book series)

I cannot praise this book enough. I have taught over 25 years and this is easily my favourite book purchase for school.From the information laid out so clearly with such interesting facts that children and adults alike will love to the beautiful illustrations that adorn this book.This book is a delight from start to finish and covers an extensive range of sea life in such a way that every age group will fall in love with it and revel in turning to a new page to delight in how amazing all the lives in our seas are.If you are unsure of buying this don’t be, it will become a much loved book very quickly and foster new love for the sea and all the creatures that live there.

This was a gift, for a little boy, turning 6 off whom, is 'challenged', with autism.However, when it comes to remembering "the proper names", of animals, dinosaur's, the ancient and unusual marine life, he's on the button & enjoys reminding, you so!He loved this book, so many sections on the differing, types of marine life & introducing many, many more to him.Lots of information on the species, the eras, that they lived in,almost like an encyclopedia, for children.The illustrations and colours, are beautiful & amazing.The feel of the book is of, really good quality.This is part of a series of books, on different types of animals.I will be adding to the collection.

My son loves sea life and has been fascinated by the ocean. He loves this book and had proudly shown it to anyone who will pay attention.The colours are bright and he’s enjoyed learning some of the facts (which he reels off at every opportunity).Well worth a look for any budding marine biologist.

Great book for 5-7 year old kid

My daughter will be 4 next month and loves all things ‘ocean’ in particular sharks and whales. I ordered this book for her 4th birthday and I’m so so impressed at the language and simplicity of the facts I just know she’s going to love reciting these to us over and over again! The book is so beautifully illustrated - I just had to buy the sticker/activity book to match!

This book is so much bigger than I thought it would be. It is beautifully illustrated and my 8 year old son and 5 year old daughter love it. There is some interesting facts about the different fish that I didn’t know either! Also good for raising awareness of the dangers of plastic in the sea and making them think about the use of plastic. Will definately be buying other books by this author.

I bought the book on oceans and the book of bugs for my 4 year old grandson who shows great interest in both subjects.so very well thought out to capture the mind and imagination of a small person. Not so overloaded with minutae as to boggle their brain. He loves to quote the facts we glean from the books to others ending with " l know about bugs/sea creatures". As a future Octonaut, explorer and superhero they serve him well. !

My year 2 class adored this book as part of an under the sea topic. Great illustrations with lots of information. They keep asking to read it during our class reading time!
