I just used these on two cupboards, very pleased with them. They are made of sturdy iron I think. they don't feel like cheap metal.

make sure you are getting the right finish
This latch was just the right one for replacing one. I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact I ordered the chrome and instead it came in a oil rubbed bronze color.
