This review is for the Magtame Magnetic USB C to Lightning Cable (Size - 3.3FT). I received a free taxable sample of this charging cable to review in my search for a replacement charging cable for my mobile device.The charging cable weighs 48 grams and end-to-end measures 40”. One end of the cable has a male USB-C connection, and the opposite end has a male Lightning connector. Both of the connectors are protected by a hard plastic sleeve measuring 1 ¼” long, ¼” thick, and ⅜” wide. Branding is limited to lettering on one side of the plastic sleeve for the Lightning connector. The cable itself is about ⅛” wide and the exterior is a nicely durable and thick braided material that still offers good flexibility.The most notable feature of this cable is its inherent self-winding magnetic capability which allows it to neatly keep a coiled shape without using fasteners or other clips. It’s an easy enough matter to straighten out the cable, but the cable seems to naturally want to keep a 4” diameter coil. That being said, it’s easy to coil the cable in tighter or looser loops with a neatly bundled charging cable as the end result. I was initially apprehensive that the magnetic properties would interfere with normal charging operations, but I’ve encountered no issues so far with charging my supported mobile devices and I like that this cable supports fast charging.Overall durability is good with the braided material, and I like the longer hard plastic sleeves that help reduce the stress of twisting and turning where it connects to the braided cable. I did notice that the USB-C and Lightning metal portions protrude a touch farther beyond the plastic sleeve than most of my cables. The connections are still pretty solid, but I did notice a little wobble between the Lightning end and my device charging ports.All in all, this is an innovative braided charging cable with built-in magnetic properties that allow it to retain a coiled shape. I recommend this as a great charging cable option, especially for those who appreciate built-in cable management.

Using in the car and it is a neat solution. It works well but you have to guide it into a coil.

I would have thought that cables have gotten as good as they’re going to get. They’re just cables after all. Sure, the braided ones are more durable than the cheapest plastic ones, but cables need to reliably connect two devices together and they’ve been doing that for years. What else could be done?Well, you could magnetize the entire length of the cable. The cable will now stick together when coiled, will attach to another similar cables running in the same direction and will even attach to metal surfaces. Brilliant!This cable is heavier than any other I’ve used and feels very durable. There are also no kinks or folds in the cable as you see with most cables. It comes coiled in a small box and can be laid perfectly straight. Coil the cable to have it the exact length you need, connect a few cables together if they’re going in the same direction or attach them to a metal surface. With their heft and magnetic abilities, they stay put exactly where you want them to.I have an upcoming cruise and I will be taking a few of these cables along. They coil nicely for storage in a small pouch I use and then I’ll be able to lay everything out on the tiny desk using the shortest lengths that I need. Should keep that tiny space organized. I might also be able to take advantage of the fact that the walls in the cabins are steel and the cable will attach to it. I can see using this cable from the charger over the desk and then running the cable on the wall down to the floor where I’ll set the iPad for charging.I absolutely can wholeheartedly recommend this durable, braided, magnetic USB A to Apple Lightning cable. Wish all of my cables were like this!

Love this cord it works amazingly easy to use love that it’s magnetic and it’s easy to put away or use on the go or for travel. Love this cord would definitely recommend!

This does coil back up as indicated and charges my phone. It's all good so far with only having it a small time. The clutter amount is less now without the wire sprawled across the desk.

This is a very useful cord and the magnetic feature does keep it from tangling. I have ordered a couple of magnetic cords, and this one doesn't coil as neatly as the others. I think the rounder shape and maybe a weaker magnet contribute to it hanging more than coiling neatly. But it's a good cord that does the trick and doesn't tend to tangle.I never seem to know whether a cord includes the brick when I order it, and sometimes I'm unpleasantly surprised. So it is worth noting that this cord does not include the brick require to plug it into the wall.

I've purchased a few of these magnetic cables from Magtame now and they are just excellent in the way that they stay coiled together due to the magnetism in the braiding. They come as regular round cables like this one, and also flat cables, which coil up even tighter than the round ones, but both serve to keep your cables wound together nicely and your desktop tidy.This particular cable has a USB-A connector at one end and a Lightning connector at the other end, and it really is a top quality build, The outer sheath is made of a tight knit braided material that is magnetised so as you coil the cable, the magnetic braiding keeps the cable together. I thought that the magnetic field may have interfered with the charging capabilities, but I checked the leaflet that came with the cable and in there it states that these cables have been very carefully designed so that they use just the right amount of magnetism, along with the right material, to prevent any adverse effects. Plus the core of the cables is made with copper, which is not a magnetic conductor so the charging will NOT be affected.These are MFi (Made For IPhone) certified cables which ensures their compatibility with Apple products. They have a massive 48 strand, and very tight knit braiding which makes it very strong and durable indeed. I love the way the connectors kind of mould onto the cable as one piece, and run a little way down the cable, with perforations in the plastic shielding to offer excellent strain relief.Obviously you would expect this cable to be fast charge capable, which it definitely is, but the cable also has the very important e-Marker chip, which is responsible for negotiating and controlling the charging speed and the data transfer, and they help prevent overheating and overcharging, and have all the electrical safety features you would expect to find in a top quality charging cable such as this one.
