rusted after 1 months use
I usually love the Wusthof brand of knives. Have a set in a butcher block but after 15 years a regular 4" knive handle had a piece break off. So i replaced it with I thought was the same kind of quality. The Gourmet brand was very poor quality both in the handle construction and the knife it self. The knife now has rust stains that require additional scrubbing to get them to look like new. If the knives are not Precision-Forged from a single carbon stainless steel, then they will rust. I found this out the hard way once I compared the previous knife to what I purchased. All knives are not the same!

Wustof knives are some of the best on the market!
I have had Wustof knives for over 10 years. The steel used is easy to sharpen. They stay sharp for longer than average knives you would buy at Walmart. Yes, the price is steep, but you get what you pay for. They are high quality. I have had no regrets for paying more for much higher quality. This particular vendor was great! They shipped quick and packaged these knives adequately.

Great knife for the price, quality Wusthof product.
This is an excellent "half tang" utility knife, very sharp with a classic style handle. The handle has a nice feel and is of medium weight (not too heavy, but not feather-light either). I can dice broccoli and cut lemons with ease. It is also great at cutting sandwiches and burritos. While this knife does not have the very solid balance and feel of a Wusthof Classic knife (which has a thicker, bolstered blade) this quality utility knife will certainly do the job, and the knife's long blade (it seems like a 5 or 6 inch blade, not 4.5 inhes) is very handy at slicing right through foods. If you want the most satisfying cutting experience, go with a pricey Wusthof Classic or the very nice Wusthof Grand Prix II with comfy ergonomic handles. But if you don't like spending $70-$100 for one knife, this Wusthof Gourmet Utility knife is a very high quality option and will fulfill most people's needs for a "go-to" utility knife.

Perfect Size/Strength
This is one of my favorite knives. This one is super sharp and just the right size for doing all sorts of chopping & slicing. I line up a lot of celery or mushrooms or zucchini and it slices through them all so easily. I can cut through many at one time due to the length of the blade. It's long, but not too long so as to be unwieldy. I save time & effort using this super tool. It's worth the money.

Pricey but a great knife!
As always love these knives. You definitely get what you pay for! Love the longer blade. Often have times when the standard pairing knife blades are a bit short and I dont want to drag out a larger chef's knife. This blade length works perfectly.

Ideal length for me.
A 4inch is a bit small and a 6 inch a bit big. So I opted for the 5 inch. The handle and blade go together well but the handle could be a bit bigger and more substantial. Not longer but thicker and heavier. Sharp and flexible blade. A thicker knife is needed for stubborn vegetables.
