Luxury Scent, Natural Formula—A Worthwhile Upgrade
From the moment I twisted up the sleek charcoal‑gray tube, this aluminum‑free stick felt more like a niche fragrance than a basic toiletry. The Santal & Vetiver blend opens with a soft wood‑smoke note that mellows into something cozy and skin‑like—noticeable without shouting. The texture starts a touch firm but warms quickly, leaving a clear layer that feels more like a lightweight balm than wax. At 2.6 ounces the tube is larger than many natural alternatives, which helps soften the sticker shock of the $20 price tag.Performance has been better than I expected for a botanical formula. On regular workdays it keeps odor at bay well past bedtime, and I haven’t seen any of the chalky build‑up that plagues baking‑soda sticks. Weekend hikes during Florida humidity did call for a midday swipe, but the reapplication went on just as clean. Friends who’ve tried other scents in the line—Black Rose & Oud seems to be the cult favorite—report similar longevity, so it isn’t just this fragrance pulling the weight. I also like knowing there’s seaweed extract, shea butter, and prebiotics in the mix, which might explain why my skin hasn’t protested the switch from drugstore antiperspirants. There are quirks, though. If you press too hard, the creamy base can smudge onto collars and certain synthetic fabrics, leaving faint darker marks that need a stain stick. The first few uses can feel a little scratchy until the top layer smooths out, and the packaging—as luxe as it looks—heads straight to the trash once empty. A refill option or recyclable insert would go a long way toward justifying the premium feel. Still, if you’re hunting for a natural deodorant that actually performs and smells sophisticated enough to double as a subtle personal scent, this one earns a spot on the bathroom shelf.

I'm a happy customer...
After years of faithful use with Native deodorant, I decided it was time to try something new—and Salt & Stone's Bergamot & Hinoki deodorant exceeded my expectations. The texture is smooth with a refined, moderate dry-down that feels weightless on the skin—something I never truly experienced with previous brands. The scent itself is quietly stunning. Bergamot & Hinoki blends beautifully with my body chemistry, creating a clean, refined aroma that’s fresh, slightly woodsy, and not the least bit overpowering. It gives off that elusive “you smell amazing, but I can’t quite place it” vibe—and I love that.Packaging-wise, it's chic and modern, a little piece of luxury in my daily routine. I wouldn’t mind a refillable option in the future, just to cut down on waste, but the current design already feels elevated and intentional.I haven’t put it through the test of a hot, sweaty day yet, but so far, it's held up beautifully. I absolutely recommend it for anyone looking for a more elevated, effective natural deodorant. This one’s a keeper.

Smells awesome but...
If I was to rate this on effectiveness, I would honestly give it a 2 out of 5. This is one of the very few deodorants that, if I use it, I will actually start to stink before my next shower. But, on the flipside, if I could rate it on scent alone, I'd give it a 6 out of 5. It really smells SO good to the point that I still buy it to apply it as a mild cost effective form of solid cologne instead. So because of this, I still buy it, but only for the scent alone. If it was more effective as a deodorant, it would be an easy 5 stars just based on the pureness and scent. I just find it to not be effective enough for day to day underarm use.

Refreshing, Delightful, & Works!
I have been using Salt & Stone deodorant since 2022 and love it. I've tried 4 different scents (Eucalyptus & Cedarwood, Santal & Vetiver, Bergamot & Hinoki, and Black Rose & Oud) and have enjoyed the clean, refreshing, and unique scent of every single one. The Eucalyptus & Cedarwood was my favorite before it was discontinued :( ...BUT my new favorite is the Black Rose and Oud, which has a rich floral, warm amber, and musky earth/woody scent. It's not as light and crisp as the Bergamot & Hinoki, so it may not be for everyone, but I think it's delicious and kind of sexy. After I applied it the first time, I couldn't stop smelling my armpits, so I bought the body spray to help with that inconvenient issue, lol. Salt & Stone, if you read this, please please please do not discontinue the Black Rose & Oud! I'm making it my new signature scent and I'm not great with change. Thanks for understanding :) !Back to business... for me, Salt & Stone deodorant is easy to use, leaves no staining on clothes, and is effective for daily use. If you're planning on heavy or sweaty activity, you may need to reapply, but for your average day to day of being alive, it's a wonderful choice!

10/10 recommendation from a farm owner
Y’all this stuff works. I’m a horse person, not a lady. I sweat, a lot. This goes on easy and works all day long. The scent does fade as the day goes but body odor has not come into play for the two months since I started using this product. I also have sensitive skin and have zero irritation. I will say it goes on a bit thick but that doesn’t bother me. 100% all day protection for someone who looks like she jumped in a pool after working a regular job and managing a farm. It’s worth the price.
