Good vaue product but with flaws
So after deciding one day I would get off my backside and put the Samsung 37" TV I have owned for over a year on the wall, I started my research. I wanted a bracket that would pivot in various directions as the TV was being displayed in a corner. I looked at the available products not wanting to spend over the odds and found this product. I read the previous reviews and had mixed feelings about the product, however being a competent DIYer I ordered it considering the price (Many 37" brackets are double the price and more).I revieved the product next day ordering with express delivery. Amazon I cannot fault, same service; excellent. The product comes in a small blank white box, the same box design as many bath and basin taps come in. I checked all the components and found everything required as stated in the instruction leaflet, so far so good. The instruction leaflet looked as if it had been written by french tourists being an entertaining read but with very little information for newbies without any common sense. I had visions of many people who have never picked up a screwdriver before scratching their heads at this point. I got the general idea and started work but soon realised the fixings provided (M8 60mm) for the wall are inadequate for TV's any larger than 30" or weighing in excess of 8kg. There are three holes which is simply not enough for larger TV's and the fixings are good providing your TV matches the criteria I mention and you are drilling into solid brick. If not, you will need to take a trip down the local Homebase and get something you would bank on supporting hundreds of pounds of equipment like I did. I bought some hammer fixings of 100mm M8 which did the job perfectly and I always use for tasks like this (each are rated in excess of 100kg). If you have a stud/plasterboard wall you will need the relevant fixings also but I personally would try getting brick or the stud as otherwise you might be woken in the night to a crash. There is a nice spirit level built in on the bracket but I found this was not very accurate but gave the general idea having double checked with my own. With this side of the task done and the bracket plate on the wall securely, I moved onto the TV mounting plate. My TV needed the 200x200 VESA which meant adding the extension plates which I noted from previous reviews were mentioned they were not up to the job. I disagree, it sounds like the individuals who stated this are doing the M5 nuts up finger tight and not with a spanner as the plate was solid after I completed this. The right screws were provided with the bracket for my TV, but I believe there are only two sizes and a couple of lengths, so you may have to buy some for your TV depending on what sizes you need. The last part of the task was sliding the arm & TV onto the mounting plate and tightening up a grub screw which was easy enough for one person in my case, but I would recommend two. The plate was a little tight when sliding it onto the bracket but this was easily solved like most things with a good old hammer. The arm is made of a solid construction, heavy and looks up to the job easily, however like most others have said, the pivot ball on the end of the arm cannot support any TV past 8kg without constantly dropping forward. No matter how tight you do the allen key nuts, I have tightened them to max capacity and although better the TV just drops forward. Luckily I improvised with a rubber spacer included in the fixings pack wedging it underneath and therefore solving my issue but I believe this is terribly misleading and request the seller revise the listing to reflect accurate weight capacities. This is the only flaw in otherwise a great product. The pivot ball is plastic and should be metal with a grub screw to tighten instead of three allen key screws on the back, creating a clamp affect which is useless for larger TVs.In all for the money a good product but think twice before buying for a TV over about 8kg or you will be doing a Heath Robinson like many others have with this product.

Excellent little bracket
Bought this to mount a 17" TV in the bedroom and found it very easy to put up and very very sturdy indeed. The arm/TV mount assembly is separate from the wall bracket itself. Unlike most other mounts in this price range, this means you don't need to bolt the TV to the bracket in situ, making it easily fittable by one person, even for a larger TV.The wall bracket itself has a handy built-in spirit level (which is hidden once the rest of the arm is slid into place). There is also a little hook at the bottom to act as a cable tidy.I found there was very little noticable "sagging" once the TV was in place (though a 17" LED is pretty light) and final adjustments were easy thanks to the ball-and-socket joint on the mounting plate. The only thing to bear in mind is that the mount can only be vertically tilted by a few degrees - I've got mine at about six feet above the floor and about ten feet from the bed and the tilt is only just enough for the viewing angle to be acceptable. For the price though, you really can't go wrong with this bracket and it is easily as good as ones I looked at in shops that cost four or five times the price.

Great product, just read the description carefully
Like other VonHaus brakets this is very well made and finished, and was easy to fix to the wall and hook up the TV. There is a clever plastic moulding to carry the cables, too. Only thing is, I understood that it was telescopic, and it isn't - the arm is about 30cm long and the only way to reduce the gap between TV and wall is to swing the bracket to one side. I didn't want that as I was positioning the TV between a pair of curtains and wanted the bracket to come straight off the wall at right angles. I now have to confess I cut the arm down, shortened it by 8cm and joined the two halves with a piece of hardwood fitted tight inside the box section. I put M6 bolts through and sprayed everything satin black. Result, a neat joint, a shorter bracket and no warranty. By the way, the VESA plate is really large and covered the mains connection on my relatively small TV. OK - that got cut and sprayed too. The point is the bracket was really good quality and I didn't want to return it, it just needed a re-design for my installation!

Good value, but the original price has to be a lie.
There's just no way this is a £99.99 bracket. It's incredible value at the price paid, but beware of the following:- The ball/socket arrangement at the TV end is fairly secure, but the ball-socket near the TV doesn't appear to have the build quality of many of the £50+ brackets. It will do the job for small TVs, but if it's over a 32" I believe the TV would slowly pitch downwards and need repositioning now and then. Not a massive issue, and certainly nothing to complain about given the price this is being sold for!- The rawl plugs supplied to attach the bracket to the wall are a joke. There's no way I'd trust them to take the weight of a large TV with only three of them arranged vertically. They will be ok for a small monitor, but I would buy some high strength expanding bolts to fit if you're thinking of mounting a larger TV.- Forewarned is forearmed: You can do most of this with one person, but you will need two people to lift the TV up and place it onto the bracket as you can't really see around the screen to line up the wall-plate with the bracket... not least of all because...This is a heavy solid bracket, and far more secure than you would expect for under £10. Postage was more than the item! I'd highly recommend this to anyone, but just don't fall for the publicity; it's a fantastic bargain at £10, but it's not a £100 item.
