Amazing Real Time Tactics Game, but with BUGS
I just got the Platinum on the PS4 and here's my quick review. Warning: it's an essay. For those who are a fan of games like Commandos or Robin Hood, you might have played Shadow Tactics, a stealth tactical game developed by Mimimi, a German developer. After the success of Shadow Tactics, they decided to make the next game in the Desperados series. As a prequel to Desperados Wanted Dead or Alive, the first game in the series that came out in 2001, Desperados 3 explores the origin of the protagonist John Cooper and his revenge for his father's death. The game sets in the Wild West in the 1870s and features many locations in America including Mexico, Colorado, and Louisiana. The game is described as a squad based real-time tactical stealth, in which the player controls 5 playable characters to complete a mission. The game is in isometric camera view that can be panned, zoomed and rotated. Each character has different skillsets and is useful in certain situations. The gameplay, for the most part, is no different than in Shadow Tactics, but was improved in a lot of ways. Control and camera are smoother. Animations are better. Characters' skills are more balanced. You can now pause in shadow mode. And level design is way better. Just like Shadow Tactics, there are badges (challenges) that the game gives you for each level. This is a nice addition to add replayability and for those who want to try different gameplay style, or simply go for 100% achievement. In my opinion, Mimimi Games have mastered this genre. Desperados 3 is arguably the best game of its kind to date. These games are in fact Puzzle games in the shell of Real-time Tactics. In my opinion they are very similar to Hitman (which is also a puzzle game) in a lot of ways.Playtime is about 25-30 hours on average. It took me 40+ hours to 100% everything. My main gripe on Desperados 3 is its story and characters. They are not bad, but certainly not as great as Shadow Tactics'.Overall this is one of the best games I've played this year and could be in my top 30 favorite games of all time.My personal score: 9/10+Challenging gameplay+Good level design+Decent replayability-Story could be better-Quite difficult for some people

Entertaining, but poorly engineered. Gameplay could benefit from more careful program screening. Overall a fun game, 6/10
