total weight? how much does item weight?

Product description states 8.97 lbs., bout it doesn’t feel that heavy when moving it around. I have a scale that uses pressure plates to activate for body weight. When I place the product on the scale, it doesn’t trip the sensors to weigh it.

Does the machine itself use batteries?

No. It's plugged into an outlet. The picture doesn't show the cords but both the unit and the remote are corded. Just FYI, we love ours and our doctors approved as well.
