Q: If I don't want these to come on based on whether or not there's already light in the room, is there a on/off button to just turn it off completely?

There is NO on/off button. They come on when it is fairly dark in the location where they are placed. They turn off when there is light in the room. If you want an on/off switch, I bet you could buy some sort of plug with an on/of switch built into the plug. Then plug these night lights into such plug.

Dear Dave, There isn't a switch to turn on/off. This item has a dusk to dawn sensor, it will always keep off at daytime. And automatically turn on when the sensor detected the dark, and then turns off at dawn. Hope this can help you. Regards, Dewenwils Customer Service
