Worked perfect, I repaired a welding helmet with it. Good value for the money. And save me from having to buy a new welding helmet I'll be able to change the batteries now.

Automatic-darkening welding helmets turn out to have a couple of button batteries soldered into them, and you have to disassemble them to get to the batteries. On mine, that's a pair of 3 volt button cells. I pried the module open, unsoldered the battery tabs and removed the old ones, and wired one of these holders into where the + and - terminals had been. I routed the holders outside the module for easy future access. I also rewired the red wire to bypass the switch on this holder, since the welding helmet has its own switch. Hey, all you welders can solder, right? Fixed the problem, and future battery replacement will be easy.

These wired battery boxes were purchased to replace a broken battery box on an older fishing hat. The top cracked while changing batteries. That hat is no longer available. These were just what I wanted and needed. Simple snip/snip, then spliced in the replacement batt.box. Used a sticky hook&loop to put it in the hat. Back in use, for another 5 years I hope.

My ugly Christmas sweater stopped working. One of the battery cables broke off so I was able to easily repair it. Now I obnoxiously light up again.

I thought the included screws were for mounting it to a panel. But are for holding the (rather thin) case together. Had a lousy time mounting it.

Of 2 I tried, one had an intermittent switch. The other one worked fine. Not a great failure rate but at this price about what I’d expect.
