NC79557 Comfort-Cool Thumb CMC Restriction Splint Right, Small Plus by North Coast Medical

I have tendinitis in both thumb joints from my work which aggravated the osteoarthritis that I did not know was present. This support brace helped to stabilize the CMC thumb joint and push it back in place so it was less irritated during daily activities. I was in between sizes so I ordered the smaller size hoping it would stretch just slightly and then give me the stability that would help. It did the trick. I wanted and needed more compression than I would have received if I had ordered up one size. Neoprene does stretch a bit, sort of like breaking in leather shoes, so if you can stand the tightness for about 45 mins to an hour, then I would recommend ordering the smaller size if you are in between sizes to get a more snug fit for more compression. After it loosened up slightly, my pain level went down from a 7 to around 3. And I did not need to have any pain medication throughout the day. The support sleeve is a bit expensive, but since I had relief from the pain without any medicine, I feel it is worth it. I only ordered one for my right hand because I didn't know how it would fit, but I am going to order a second one when so it can be washed and also order one for my left hand. Neoprene will fray with time and possiblywear out, but I'm hoping by then my CMC joint pain will be less that I might be able to do my job without needing the brace.

This restriction splint is very comfortable and works to keep the thumb in line with the wrist. When the splint gets dirty or smelly, it washes up well. This splint has been a life saver for my wrist and thumb.

Thumb sprint fits nicely after getting it into the proper place for a couple of the first times, then easy to put on. feels very supportive of the thumb and also helps the wrist

I have to travel before I get hand surgery and the orthopaedic surgeon said this was a great splint to stabilize my thumb until I get back. There is a bit more flexibility here than with my other style of brace, so I drop less stuff with this one.

Having thumb arthritis I was told that I may have to wear this the rest of my life. They are expensive and do not standup well. After a couple of days the foam starts falling off because the fabric separate quite easily and the threads start to fray too.

It’s really is helpful supporting my thumb when I’m using my hands. Helps decrease a lot of pain and makes my hand a little stronger.

I have arthritis in both hand and my right hand tends to be worse off than left. This brace fits my like a glove and works very well with the activities I do. It is a size small.
