Just Like Mary Paperback – March 2, 2003

This book packs a lot of solid Catholic teaching about Mary into simple and engaging language for young children. The book has short re-tellings of Biblical and traditional Catholic stories about Mary's life including the Immaculate Conception, her dedication to God as a young girl, the Annunciation, the Visitation, the Nativity, the Presentation at the Temple, the Flight into Egypt, Jesus' Preaching at the Temple, the Wedding at Cana, Jesus' Crucifixtion, Mary as Mother of the Church, and praying the Hail Mary and the Rosary. This makes an excellent addition to a Catholic homeschool program or for supplementing a parish CCD program.

Charmingly illustrated and can be read in short snippets so as not to bore or alienate the kids. I have a little one going through first communion this year and is beginning to get bogged down by the religious stuff. I can get away with this.

Beautifully written and perfectly explains the important role of Our Lady. What I especially liked is that the authors speak about intercession and not "prayer to" Our Lady, something that many Catholics, in general, seem to confuse.

This book is one of several in this series which we have purchased. Our children love to read them, and they make for wonderful discussions of the faith.

Great book on Mary and her life. My 3rd grader used it for a book report in school. The teacher loved her presentation.

I liked this book and it's story. I used it around Easter and Mother's Day. I gave it to an eight year old girl.
