Cheaper than the Rode but just as good
I did some test with this blimp and my Sennheiser ME66 on my roof deck during 40mph winds in Chicago. Superb! The shotgun mic fit like a glove, never hit the sides when moving and performed admirably. The construction withstood the gusts and the deadcat cut out nearly all the wind. Anything left was easily removed with light noise reduction leaving me clean and crisp voice recordings. The blimp is around 30% cheaper than the comparable Rode unit and substantially less than the industry standard Rycote blimp with pistol grip but it works just as well. I do miss the rubber on Rode's grip but I usually have it on a boom pole so that's pretty inconsequential. The deadcat was a bit tight but after installing it a few times, it got easier. I was told they would be making a slightly bigger one in the future but I prefer it snug to prevent any flapping. If you're in the market for a blimp, you can't go wrong with this Digitalfoto unit.

Just like Rode Except wombat fits tight
Works like a charm. Just like Rode Blimp. Only complaint is the wombat fits a little TOO snug when trying to remove it. It hasn’t torn, but is a pain to remove and put back on. But minor detail for the cost. Durable too. It’s been over 1 year and 3 months and still going strong. I also rent it out and it’s endured with other renters just fine.

decent quality, good value for money
The blimp is of decent quality, definitely good value for money. I did not use it it for a long time but on a test it performed well as expected. The dead cat is a bit tight but finally it fit ok. No idea if on the bottom the deadcat will be better with a zipper like my old one or the thread will suffice...at the moment looks ok, just test it outside and no problems.

Blimp that competes with the rode
The product is very light weight allowing the boom operator to do longer takes. It’s long enough to put almost any mic in regardless of length. Works really well with rode mics. The shock mount is very good at keeping unwanted sounds from mic movement. The blimp cancels a good amount of wind noise. On my last shoot day I used this blimp outside with alittle higher than normal wind speeds and it canceled out 99% of the wind allowing me to use the onset audio.Worked just as well as the rode blimp but $100 cheaper

Good price for quality product But missing comb/brush
Everything about this blimp is great. It works just as it should. BUT!! the packing list inside the shipping carton states that it comes with a comb/brush. I did not get one with the blimp I ordered.

Save sooooo much $$$ without sacrificing QUALITY
K1 Production Studios has great amount of Rhode products purchased over the years. With that said, our team here at K1 Production Studios can’t tell the difference in material build and performance between the Rhode Blimp and the Micolive Blimp version, except the handle not having rubber on the grip, which you can paint a rubber grip on with rubber paint from Harbor Freight Tools if you’d like that, and a weird built XLR shorty thats included with the Rode. Other than that, this product is exactly the same as the Rhode Blimp version. Also, there is a thicker (and better, in my opinion) XLR shorty that’s included with the Micolive Blimp version. And…it also comes with a well fitted dead cat included in the cost! Rhode does not include the dead cat…Need I say more??? In short, if you were to place both of these items from these different manufacturers side-by-side… You will know exactly which one is absolute the worth of money. Especially if there’s no significant difference between the two in material build. I’m glad that K1 Production Studios has chosen Micolive version of the Blimp. We will be acquiring more this coming year. We feel that it was an awesome decision to go with Micolive. 🎬🎥⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🎥🎬Cheers!K1 Production Studios

Worth the money
bought this for a production i was working on and paired it with the rode microphone and man this bimp is amazing does a really good job blocking out the wind with the included dead cat. the price does not match the product really well built and it has the built in XLR cable to attach your microphone without having to run the wire is a great addon recommend this to anyone on a budget and that is looking for great quality on a budget

Great addition to the kit! Must have for outdoors.
Nice and lightweight while also being quality made. It’s super effective for windy environments. The shock mount is good quality for reducing movement noise, then the blimp of course, and add the deadcat covering for extra wind resistance. The handle is nice for holding while in a run and gun situation too or mount it to a boom pole. This is a great buy and the same quality or better than some more expensive options!
