2006 Toyota Corolla (NOT MATRIX) fit perfectly
I was able to follow some videos, just snapped the cover of my gear shift open. I applied some silicon dielectric grease onto both this bushing and wire. It was a tight squeeze since i didn't take everything off, could fit about 3 fingers in there. After some finesse, was able to push it in and slid right into the connector (do so carefully, you might drop the bushing). Work perfectly so far and hasn't fallen off! I think i'll also get a metal clip to make sure it's also secure. There's a groove onto the gear shift connector itself that fits the metal clip.

Perfect replacement for 2003-2008 Pontiac Vibe
Perfect fit. I used some lithium grease to grease the part and put it into the cable housing, then grease the shifter assembly shaft and slip the entire thing on. Then you need to keep it from coming off so you could fashion your own clip, use a small zip tie, or as others have suggested a 3/8" metal E-clip is the best solution. I got the E-clip from my local big box hardware store.

Excellent fit for 2003 Corolla
Excellent fit for for 2003 Toyota Corolla. Put the rubber grommet into the shifter cable before you put it into the shifter handle. Order an extra clip in case yours is missing or it falls between the cracks. You can always return it if you don’t need it.

Only half the parts you will need.
The part arrived quick. And it was easy to install. But for the price I would have thought it would have came with a retaining clip to hold the bushing on the shaft. I think Toyota put a plastic press on retainer that had broke and was why it failed to begin with. And for the sturdiness. Will it would have been sturdy if it came with the retainer clip. So I have rated it according my thoughts as it is not all that is needed to fix it, and I had to get creative and make my own retainer out of a small cutout of a plastic milk jug and cut out a center hole just slightly smaller then the shaft, and three very small relief cuts to the inside of the center cut and press it onto the shaft past the bulge on the shaft to keep it from just coming off as it seemed it would without it. So I hope this helps anyone stuck finding out this issue and needs a fix for that.Best of luck.
